ONLINE APPLICATION SYSTEM GUIDE

Admission of students from abroad to undergraduate programs must be made online and submitted through the online system after all of the required steps have been completed. You do not need to complete the application process in one session. By creating a username and password, you can save the application file and open it with a user name and password during the application file log in again to modify the saved (but not yet submitted) information. 

The Online Application System will be opened on 9 July 2024 at 10.00, local time. It will be closed to the creation of new user accounts  16 July 2024 at 17.00, local time. The application system will be closed on 16 July 2024 at 17.30, local time

Once you enter the system, use the links at the top of the page to navigate through the application process. It is necessary to scan and upload supporting documents (transcript, score reports, etc.) to the system. Fully completed application forms must be sent to the Registrar’s Office through the online system by clicking on the “Submit Application” button.

It is not possible to make changes to submitted application forms after they have been submitted. Please be sure that you have all of the required information and documents before  you submit your application.

Please complete your application promptly, taking into account the application procedures and the submission deadline.

Applicants who are admitted to a undergraduate program at Boğaziçi University must submit all official documents to the program at the time of registration, to verify the information declared during the application process.

Boğaziçi University reserves the right to cancel an offer of admission if a fraudulent application was submitted. 


PREPARING TO APPLY
It is recommended that you read carefully the list of application documents and the application terms of the programs to which you plan to apply and have all of the documents you need for the application ready before you log in to the Online Application System.


APPLICATION
STEP 0: DEFINING A NEW USER


STEP 1: APPLICANT INFORMATION FORM
In this section, you will be asked to enter the general information required for applying to all graduate programs (identity data, contact information, educational background and English proficiency).


STEP 2: PROGRAM APPLICATION FORM
In this section you will be applying to the relevant program(s) and will need to upload a Statement of Purpose, standardized undergraduate graduate exam scores (SAT/TR-YÖS/YKS) and other supporting documents (the “Other Documents” field is not a required field)  for each program you will be applying to. In this section, the Application Fee transaction must be completed.


Once the Steps 1 and 2 have been completed the application fee must be paid before proceeding to Step 3. The program application fee is EUR 100.00 or its TRY equivalent at the exchange rate announced by the Central Bank of Türkiye. A separate application fee must be paid for each program to which you apply.

If you are exempt from paying the application fee, then your Payment Status will show as “Exempt from Payment

Applicants must pay the application fee via one of the two methods described below.

If application fee is paid via domestic or from abroad payment channels, you may proceed to Step 3.


1. Payment by EFT for domestic applicants

The required fee amount can be transferred via EFT to the account numbers provided below.


2. Payment from abroad via SWIFT

The application fee can be transferred via SWIFT to the account numbers provided below.


Applications submitted with invalid payment transactions will not be processed. 

The application fee must be paid only if the relevant program has an opening and applicants fulfill the necessary requirements.

Application fee is non-refundable.

All charges for wires transfer are paid additionally by the applicant. Please be advised that both the sending bank and the receiving bank impose fees. In addition, there may be intermediary services that charge additional fees during the money transfer. The Admissions Office will check the amount received by the University from the Account Office. Please do not use the Wise, Western Union etc. pay with online payment channels.

If you have a question about your application, please contact the program through the Program Contact Person as listed on the application web page.


EXITING THE SYSTEM

You exit the system by clicking on “Logout”.

 

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1.Can I upload more than one document?

- You can upload more than one document. There are fields that allow you to upload additional documents in every Program Application Form.

2.If the document contains more than one page, what should I do? 

- You must upload the document so that all pages are within one PDF document.

3.What should I pay attention to when I scan a document?

- Your scanning software should ask you what resolution to scan your document, either before or after the scan. Be sure to scan at no more than 72dpi.

- Save the scanned object as a .pdf file. For Mac users, please note that the file name must include the appropriate 3 letter extension.

- Check that your document can be opened and is readable by opening it in a PDF viewer program.

- Do not attempt to upload a document that is password-protected or contains macros.

- Make sure scanned documents are readable and printable on a normal-sized sheet of paper. Unreadable documents will not be accepted.

- Check the size of your file. It should not exceed 2MB

4.How can I view the documents I uploaded?

- You can preview the uploaded documents by clicking on the orange labels found at the related field.

5.I filled out the form but receive an error message when I click on Save; what should I do?

- Read the error messages and directions at the screen carefully.

- Make sure you have uploaded the scanned documents with proper format and size.

- Go over what you wrote in the boxes, examine the characters you used and make sure you have not entered letters where you should have entered numbers, and/or vice versa.

- Check and review the format (decimal notations) of your grades and scores.

6.I can’t submit my application, what should I do?

- Complete all the steps in order prior to “STEP 3: Submit Program Application” and fill out all the mandatory fields on the forms, then resubmit your application form.

7.How will I pay the application fee?

- Detailed information on how to pay the application fee may be found in the Online Application System Guide.

8.I paid the fee, but my “Payment Status” appears incomplete, what should I do?

- Your payment may not have been verified online or by the Registrar’s Office.

- If you are sure you made the payment through one of the payment methods described in the Online Application System Guide, check payment status a little while later.

- If the problem ensues, send a message to the technical support using the message area on the application system.

9.I submitted my application, what do I need to do now?

- You can check the status of your application at “STEP 4: APPLICATION STATUS.” Under the Document Checklist provided on this page, you can view the documents and information you declared in your application file that failed to satisfy admission requirements, after the Admissions Office processes your application. If your application was forwarded to the relevant program, and there are documents/information missing on your Document Checklist, contact the program you applied to.

10. Can I modify my application once it is submitted?

- You cannot update a submitted application form. If there are documents you wish to update, you can consult the relevant program and submit them by hand, if appropriate.

11.I am still experiencing difficulties regarding my application. What should I do?

- Send a message to Technical Support using the message area on the application system. You will not get a reply to your message. Check to see whether the problem persists after 24 hours have passed.
