Admission of Students from Abroad to Undergraduate Programs for Documents Required

This document must be submitted by those who have completed all of their high school education abroad (except for TRNC high schools), are citizens of the Republic of Türkiye, or have dual citizenship, one of which is a Turkish citizen by birth,

SAT Score or TR-YÖS Score or GCE AL Score
Applicants are required to have obtained at least the minimum score in either the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or the TR-YÖS exam or the General Certificate of Education Advanced Level (GCE AL) examination.
For prospective students who have Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) exam results;
For the Engineering Faculty programs must have a minimum score of 700 out of 800 in the “Math” test and a total score of 1350 out of 1600 in the “Math” and “Evidence-Based Reading and Writing” tests of the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).
For the Science Faculty programs must have a minimum score of 700 out of 800 in the “Math” test and a total score of 1300 out of 1600 in the “Math” and “Evidence-Based Reading and Writing” tests of the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).
For the Education Faculty programs must have a total score of 1200 out of 1600 in the “Math” and “Evidence-Based Reading and Writing” tests of the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).
For the other programs must have a total score of 1300 out of 1600 in the “Math” and “Evidence-Based Reading and Writing” tests of the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).
SAT scores are valid for two years.
Official SAT score must be sent directly to Boğaziçi University. (Boğaziçi University’s SAT code is 0796).
For prospective students who have TR-YÖS exam results;
It is required to get at least 450 points from the exam.
The validity period of TR-YÖS exam results is two years from the exam date.
For prospective students who have General Certificate of Education Advanced Level (GCE AL) exam results;
Applicants must have received at least an "A" grade in three subjects that are relevant to the undergraduate program they are applying for.
ÖSYS Score Card
Foreign applicants who have taken tests administered by ÖSYM (Student Selection and Placement Center) may submit their ÖSYS test scores instead of SAT scores. Those who have taken the test given in the preceding year and received the minimum score required to be admitted to the relevant program must submit their score card.
Official High School Transcript
Applicants should submit an official transcript certified by their High School Principal showing all courses taken and grades received.
High School Diploma or an Official Letter Certifying Graduation
Applicants should submit a copy of their High School Diploma or an official letter from their High School certifying their graduation.
Documentation of English Proficiency
The medium of instruction at Boğaziçi University is English. Applicants who are proficient in English must document their proficiency in accordance with the provisions set out by Boğaziçi University Senate. Applicants who have received the required scores in any one of the exams recognized by the Senate may enroll in the program to which they have been accepted (see below for further information). Those who fail to satisfy the English proficiency requirement are admitted to the School of Foreign Languages (YADYOK) English Preparatory Program.
English Proficiency Exams recognized by Boğaziçi University Senate;
- Boğaziçi University English Proficiency Exam (BUEPT)
The English Proficiency Test (BUEPT) is administered by the School of Foreign Languages (YADYOK).
Applicants who plan to take the BUEPT must apply to YADYOK prior to the date of the exam.Applicants who have already taken the TOEFL® or IELTS and received a sufficient overall score but failed to achieve a sufficient score in the writing section must present their TOEFL® or IELTS score report to YADYOK and apply to take the TWE. Prospective students who are exempt from English language proficiency must obtain a document approved by YADYOK that they are exempt.
- English Preparatory Classes
Applicants for in the Englis preparatory class must take placement exam administered by the School of Foreign Languages (YADYOK).

TÖMER or Yunus Emre Institute Turkish Proficiency Exam
This document is required only from applicants to the Faculty of Law. Applicants must submit proof of Turkish language proficiency at a minimum B2 level at the time of application, either through a TÖMER certificate (accepted only if issued by centers affiliated with State Universities) or the Yunus Emre Institute Turkish Proficiency Exam.
Statement of Purpose
Applicants must submit a Statement of Purpose written in English, explaining their reasons for wishing to be admitted to the program.
Copy of Passport
Prospective students with foreign citizenship must submit a copy of their passport.
A Document Showing the Entry and Exit Dates to and from the Country in Which the High School Diploma Was Acquired
This document must be submitted by those who have completed all of their high school education abroad (except for TRNC high schools), are citizens of the Republic of Türkiye, or have dual citizenship, one of which is a Turkish citizen by birth.Copies of the relevant pages of the passport or a record from the Police Headquarters.
Copy of Blue Card
Applicants who hold Blue Card (have renounced their Turkish citizenship by permission of the Ministryof Interior) must attach a copy to their application.
Application Fee
The application fee is EUR 100 or its TL equivalent at the exchange rate announced by the Central Bank of Türkiye. A separate application fee is required by each program applied. The application fee receipt must be submitted during application.
The application fee must be paid only if the relevant program has an opening and applicants fulfill the necessary requirements.
Application fee is non-refundable.
