Who Can Apply?

Students who have graduated from any institution that is the equivalent of Turkish high schools and those who meet the application criteria below may apply for admission to undergraduate programs at Boğaziçi University.

For 2025 Academic Year International Student Admission Quotas:

a) On condition that they have graduated or expecting graduation from a high-school;

1) Foreign nationals, on the condition that those studying in Turkish secondary education (high school) institutions registered before the 2022-2023 academic year (except for embassy schools, international private education institutions in the MOBIS system, and foreign nationals brought to our country under the Ministry of National Education's project).

2) Those who are Turkish citizens by birth but have renounced their Turkish citizenship by obtaining permission to renounce their Turkish citizenship from the Ministry of Interior, and those who certify that they have a Blue Card, which is given upon request to those who have lost their Turkish citizenship (for those studying in secondary education [high school] institutions in Türkiye, registered before the 2022-2023 academic year).

Turkish Citizenship Law, Number 5901, Article 7, states that “(1) A child born to a Turkish mother or through a Turkish father within the unity of marriage either in Türkiye or abroad is a Turkish citizen.”

Prospective students who want apply under the “applications from abroad” category are advised to review the Turkish Citizenship Law.

3) Foreign nationals who have acquired citizenship of the Republic of Türkiye / those who hold dual citizenship, (On the condition that those studying in Turkish secondary education (high school) institutions registered before the 2022-2023 academic year)

4) Those who are citizens of Türkiye and who completed their entire high school education in a foreign country other than the TRNC (including those who completed their high school education in Turkish institutions established by the Ministry of Education in a foreign country other than the TRNC,

5) Those who are TRNC citizens, residing in the TRNC and completed secondary (high school) education in TRNC having GCE AL (General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level) exam results, and the ones who have or will have GCE AL exam results by enrolling and being educated at other country high schools between 2005-2010 or TRNC citizens who completed their entire secondary education (high school) in a foreign country and have TR-YÖS results,

can apply for undergraduate study at Boğaziçi University.

The following are not eligible to apply for admission to the undergraduate programs at Boğaziçi University,

b) Applicants;

1) Those who hold Turkish citizenship and completed their secondary education in Türkiye or in TRNC,

2) TRNC nationals (excluding those who have completed their entire secondary education (high school) in TRNC high schools and obtained a GCE AL result; those who enrolled in colleges and high schools in other countries between 2005-2010 and obtained or will obtain GCE AL exam results; and TRNC nationals who have completed their entire secondary education (high school) in a foreign country and possess a TR-YÖS result),

3) Those who hold dual citizenship, one of which is citizenship of the Republic of Türkiye by birth, as stated in Article (a) Item 2 above (except for those who satisfy the criteria stated in Article (a) Item 4),

4) Dual nationals, one of whose nationalities is TRNC (excluding those who have completed their entire secondary education (high school) in TRNC high schools and obtained a GCE AL result; those who enrolled in colleges and high schools in other countries between 2005-2010 and obtained or will obtain GCE AL exam results; and TRNC nationals who have completed their entire secondary education (high school) in a foreign country and possess a TR-YÖS result),

5) Those who hold citizenship of the Republic of Türkiye or dual citizenship, one of which is citizenship of the Republic of Türkiye by birth, as stated in Article a) Item 2) above, and who have completed their secondary education in institutions within an embassy or in other foreign institutions in Türkiye,

6) TRNC nationals, those who have renounced Turkish citizenship/Blue Card holders, and foreign nationals (excluding those enrolled in embassy schools, international private educational institutions listed in the MOBİS system, and foreign nationals brought to our country within the framework of projects conducted by the Ministry of National Education), who have been enrolled in secondary education institutions in Türkiye since the 2022-2023 academic year,

can not apply for undergraduate study at Boğaziçi University.
